Italian Language Foundation Appoints Board Members

ITALIAN LANGUAGE FOUNDATION APPOINTS BOARD MEMBERS EMILIA NUCCIO AND ENZO PIZZIMENTI AS GOVERNORS OF THE BOARD

June 2, 2019, New York, NY: The Italian Language Foundation is thrilled to announce its existing Board Members, Ms. Emilia Nuccio and Mr. Enzo Pizzimenti, will be taking on roles on the Italian Language Foundation’s Board of Governors as Vice President and Secretary, respectively.  Nuccio and Pizzimenti will join Board Chairman, Mr. Louis Tallarini, who will also serve as Treasurer.  The Foundation President, Dr. Margaret Cuomo, continues to serve as leader to the Italian Language Foundation.

Ms. Nuccio is an entertainment and media executive with experience that includes leadership roles at the BBC, Televisa and Dynamic Television.  She is currently the President of Enoro Media.  As a distributor of international content, she is passionate about sharing cultures and languages worldwide.

Mr. Pizzimenti is the Founder and CEO of CClean Inc.  He is also the President of the Italian Center for Commercial Affairs.  In addition to his work on the Italian Language Foundation, he has recently established a foundation dedicated to the promotion of the “bel canto” technique required of opera singers worldwide.

The Italian Language Foundation was founded in July 2008 with the mission of increasing participation in AP Italian language education across the United States.

Board Chairman Louis Tallarini said of the recent appointments, “Emilia and Enzo are individuals that share the ILF’s dedication of increasing the study of the Italian language.  Their professional and personal histories make them natural choices for our Foundation’s Officer positions.  I look forward to working with them to continue the growth of AP Italian study.”

AP Italian Language and Culture remains the fastest growing AP world language course offered by the College Board.

Just finished the AP Italian Language Exam?

We are pleased to announce that once again, the Italian Language Foundation will be offering Awards  for Excellence in AP Italian Language & Culture!

Students of AP Italian who are members of the Italian Language Foundation and enrolled in an American or Canadian high school will be eligible to receive the Italian Language Foundation Award for Excellence.

Students who score a 3 on the exam will receive a $100 award, students who score a 4 will receive a $150 award, and students who score a 5 will receive a $250 award.

Congratulations to all 2018 AP Italian Exam Takers!

The College Board held the 2018 Italian Language and Culture exam on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 12:00 PM.

Italian Language Foundation does NOT take accept student memberships AFTER the exam has taken place.

The 2019 AP Italian Language and Culture exam is now set for Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 12:00 PM.  For more information on 2019 exam dates, visit:

PLEASE NOTE:

Attention Student Members: Dante Awards For Excellence available for 2018

We are pleased to announce that once again, the Italian Language Foundation will be offering the Dante Award for Excellence in AP Italian Language & Culture! Students of AP Italian who are members of the Italian Language Foundation and enrolled in an American or Canadian high school will be eligible to receive the Dante Award for Excellence. Students who score a 3 on the exam will receive a $75 award, students who score a 4 will receive a $100 award, and students who score a 5 will receive a $200 award.

Student Members who joined the ILF before the 2018 exam and wish to submit their scores to the ILF for consideration of a Dante Award, should visit the following link to the College Board’s Score Reporting Services: https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/score-reporting.

From there, submit a request to send your AP Score to the ILFusing our college code (7202). College Board score report requests can be sent online, as well as by mail or fax.

PLEASE NOTE:

Dante Awards are awarded to Student Members who joined the ILF BEFORE May 16, 2018.

AP Scores must be submitted to the ILF by September 30, 2018 for consideration for a 2018 Dante Award.

If you are taking the 2019 AP Italian Language and Culture exam and expect to be eligible for a 2019 Dante Award, you must register as an ILF Student Member BETWEEN August 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.
