The Italian Language Foundation brings you, this first webinar as part of our Commitment 2 Excellence Program. ILF invites 11th and 12th grade students to join our Workshop Facilitator: College Counselor & College Funding Expert, Yaritza Gonzalez, for this webinar interactive workshop to help prepare you for college. On Saturday, October 2, 2021, 1pm est, Yaritza will discuss a pertinent topic, your college admissions journey.
Workshop Details:
This informational workshop will help students to learn about submitting your college admission applications.
It is a brainstorming workshop on what the college personal statement should look like, a walk through the Common Application essay prompts, tips on how to grab the attention of college admissions committees.
Yaritza will offer insights on creating Personal Statement Strategies. The workshop is open only to ILF student members that are high school juniors and seniors.
About the C2E Program:
The C2E Program is geared to 11th & 12th grade high school and freshmen college level students of Italian with a goal to help them become global career and workforce ready through Mentorship and Internship exposure.
About the Facilitator:
Yaritza Gonzalez is the founder of College Money Chica, an educational consulting platform that focuses on helping families demystify the college admissions and financial aid journey. Her mission in College Money Chica is to inform families that “Debt-Free College Is Possible” and that going to college does not have to mean mortgaging your future with excessive student loans. Yaritza has a Public Relations degree from Seton Hall University, a masters in Higher Education from Columbia University, Teachers College, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Florida International University in Education Policy. She has been able to fund her entire college education with scholarship awards and is debt-free. In her professional career she has worked for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Columbia University and CUNY, where she witnessed the ins and outs of the scholarship selection process.
