Member Programs & Benefits

Supporting students and teachers with Italian Language educational resources, especially the College Board’s AP Italian Language and Culture Course and Examination.

Italian Language Foundation Teacher Reading

As a Teacher Member, The Italian Language Foundation offers continuing education support to ensure teachers of Italian receive professional development to continually enhance their Italian language teaching skills, especially AP Italian. In collaboration with the College Board, the Embassy of Italy and other educational institutions, Italian Language Foundation is able to offer professional development workshops and seminars. In addition, we help offset your continuing education costs by directly paying for select College Board workshops. 

Teacher members are eligible to be selected for the Teacher Recognition Awards which recognizes excellence in teaching including innovation and pedagogical practices.

For Student Members, the Italian Language Foundation supports high school students to become AP qualified in Italian Language and Culture. AP qualified students who pass the AP Italian language & Culture exam with a 4 or 5 become eligible for the Awards for Excellence receiving a certificate and cash stipend.  Student members are selected to enroll in the 

Commitment 2 Excellence Program (C2E) which offers students: Mentorship, Leadership & Internships. The C2E prepares students for college and career pathways by providing 1-to-1 mentorship, attendance at Leadership conferences and internships with U.S. Italian-based companies. 

Student Members are invited to submit blogs to our website, and also have access to Italian cultural events and opportunities to engage and practice their Italian language skills.

Our teacher members’ work doesn’t go unnoticed. Teacher members become eligible to receive the ILF Teacher Recognition Awards.  See our 2021 Teacher Awardees. 

ILF Rewards your Achievements

Our student members are eligible for the Awards for Excellence. Eligible students receive a  cash stipend and recognition for passing their AP Italian Language & Culture exam (minimum 4 or 5 score). Watch the 2021 Awards Ceremony and join today to become a 2022 Recipient.
