The growth of AP Italian is extremely exciting for passionate Italian teachers like myself and allows us to see students expand their linguistic and cultural skills in the Italian language.

The AP course is a terrific motivator for many students. The themes of the course provide challenging topics for language production. Teaching the curriculum is rewarding. I love the AP course!

Teacher Recognition Awards

The Italian Language Foundation is launching the Teacher Recognition Awards to reward our Teacher Members in two areas: tenure and professional development. Students of Italian need Teachers of Italian to succeed in their academics and their pathway to college and they are the catalyst to continued growth of the Italian Language within schools nationwide. Teachers of Italian are our Ambassadors encouraging students to study Italian, enroll for the AP Italian Language and Culture course and to study to take the AP Italian exam.

Their impact on students and their role within schools is essential and vitally important.

From January through April, the Italian Language Foundation will accept nominations for the Teacher Recognition Award from principals and other administrators and fellow teachers.

The Award will be announced in May and the teacher will be listed on our website, and will receive a special stipend for an upcoming Italian Language conference, to be announced.
